Kia India has announced a major milestone for one of its most successful products — the Kia Seltos has surpassed 6 lakh cumulative sales in India since its launch in 2019. The achievement highlights the SUV’s strong and consistent demand in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment, underlining sustained customer trust and market acceptance.
Since its debut, the Seltos has played a pivotal role in reshaping expectations in its category. By combining bold global design, multiple powertrain choices, automatic transmission options across fuel types, and a feature-rich cabin, the model positioned itself as a technology-focused and premium offering in a segment traditionally driven by practicality.

Kia revealed that 29% of total sales have come from top-spec variants, indicating a clear shift among buyers toward premium features, advanced safety technologies and enhanced connectivity. Over the years, the SUV has strengthened its appeal through continuous updates, including the introduction of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), improved connectivity solutions and an expanded safety package. The Seltos has also attracted buyers upgrading from hatchbacks, sedans and compact SUVs by offering premium features typically found in higher segments — without requiring a move to a larger vehicle category.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said that the achievement reflects consistent customer preference for a product that delivers on design, safety, technology and performance. He added that strong demand for top trims shows growing confidence among buyers in advanced safety systems and connected technologies.
New-Generation Seltos to Lead Kia’s Next Growth Chapter
Building on this success, Kia has introduced the new-generation Seltos, which aims to further strengthen the brand’s presence in the mid-SUV segment. The updated model features larger dimensions, including a segment-leading length of 4,460 mm, increased width of 1,830 mm, and a longer 2,690 mm wheelbase, enhancing both interior space and road presence.
The new Seltos brings upgraded comfort, a more advanced digital interface, an enhanced ADAS suite and improved safety architecture. Kia has also refined cabin quality and feature integration while continuing to offer multiple engine and transmission combinations — a key strength of the model since launch.
