Volkswagen has introduced the third-generation Tiguan for the US market, and it’s an exciting evolution. Built on the MQB evo platform, this new SUV offers a remarkable boost in power, amazing tech features, and impressive upgrades both inside and out. The automaker asserts that the 2025 Tiguan, designed to seat a maximum of five passengers, will exclusively be available in North America as a two-row SUV, with the third-row option omitted for this model year.

When it comes to dimensions, the brand hasn’t shared any details yet. However, it does have a longer wheelbase than the previous model and is 77 kg lighter, which is pretty cool.

For enhanced safety, the new Tiguan is equipped with an impressive total of 10 airbags, along with the company’s innovative IQ.Drive package (standard), which features adaptive cruise control and collision warning, ensuring a secure and enjoyable driving experience.

The updated Tiguan has really stepped up its design game with some cool new features on the outside, like a rear spoiler and those squared-off wheel wells. Up front, it’s got a slick new headlight setup with an LED that stretches across, plus a shiny new VW logo lighting up in the middle.

The side profile features 17-inch alloy wheels, with buyers having the option to choose 19 or 20-inch wheels as well. It is available in several colors options, including Monterey Blue, Avocado Green, and Sandstone.

Features

The updated Tiguan comes packed with cool features like a slick 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a heads-up display, plus you can enjoy two-zone climate control AC with an option for three zones if you want more. There’s also a 12.9-inch infotainment system that you can upgrade to a bigger 15-inch screen if you’re into that. The positive aspect is that the primary controls retain a traditional approach, featuring physical buttons located directly on the center console and dashboard.

Powertrain

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan rocks a refreshed 2.0-liter EA888 Turbo engine, producing 201 bhp— an increase of 17 bhp over the last model. It’s got an eight-speed automatic gearbox, so shifting gears is smooth sailing. The official torque numbers have not been disclosed yet, but it’s probably still around 221Nm.
