
The new Yamaha R3 remains mechanically unchanged.
Yamaha has revealed the 2025 YZF-R3 featuring new updates and tech. While the latest motorcycle gets fresh updates, the mechanical parts remails unchanged. The new R3 will target the buyers seeking a sportier look with new features on offer.
Design
In terms of design, the 2025 Yamaha R3 boasts new R9 inspired design offering sharper and more aggressive looks than the previous model. It gets projector LED headlight with LED Daytime Running Lights. The headlight is placed inside the air intake giving it more visual appeal. The tail section has been revised slightly for a sportier look.
Key updates
In terms of features and tech, the 2025 Yamaha R3 now comes equipped with a slipper clutch which has been in demand by enthusiasts since long time. This inclusion of a slipper clutch lightens the clutch lever resulting to enhance the overall riding experience in daily communing. It also reduces the engine braking in aggressive downshifts.
Some other notable features of the new Yamaha R3 includes: a new LED console with Bluetooth connectivity allowing the rider to keep and update on calls, massages and notifications. While the motorcycle get’s changes on the console, it still misses out on a TFT display which is already on offer by competitors in the segment.
Powertrain
The 2025 Yamaha R3 comes with a fresh new look yet it continues to remain mechanically unchanged. It is powered by the same 321 cc, parallel engine as it’s predecessor. This engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox and provides a power output of 31.4 BHP and 29.5 NM of torque. It gets KYB upside-down forks and rear monoshok for comfortable riding experience. There is a single disc at both front and rear wheel with dual channel ABS for better safety.
Launch and Competition
Once launched, the Yamaha R3 will rival to the recently updated Aprilia RS457 and Ninja 500. We can expect the Yamaha India to launch the updated R3 in in first quarter of 2025.
