BYD eMAX 7 comes in two trims and 530 kms or claimed range on single charge.

BYD launched the eMax7 MPV in Indian market. The new MPV is the successor of the BYD E6 which was their first product for the Indian buyers. The new MPV has been launched with a starting price of Rs 26.9 lakhs and goes up to Rs 29.9 lakhs for the range topping Superior variant. Bookings are already open and interesting buyers can secure their vehicle with a token amount of Rs 51,000. Have a look at the complete price table below.

Exterior

In terms of exterior, the BYD eMax7 comes with the brands new design language, showcasing miner updates to the LED headlamps as well as on the taillamps. It gets newly designed bumpers with sort of chrome finishing that gives it a more premium appeal than the previous e6. The side profile looks more less the same with miner changes, but it gets a set of newly designed 17 inches alloy wheels. The new BYD eMax7 is available in four colour schemes including, Harbour Grey, Cosmos Black, Quartz Blue and Crystal White.

Interior

On the inside, the new MPV gets a completely new dashboard, featuring a familiar 12.8 inch rotational infotainment system, redesigned steering wheel, a 5 inch LCD MID on the digital instrument cluster and the use of soft touch materiel giving it a more premium look than the previous e6 model. On the centre console, there are two wireless charging pads and a new gear selector knob looks quite premium.

Features

Some of the notable features of the BYD eMax 7 includes, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Vantilated front seats, frameless wipers and Panoramic glass roof. Furthermore, it comes equipped with six airbags as standard across all the variants as well as a 360 degree camera and other safety features.

Performance and Range

The BYD eMax 7 is available in two variants with 6 & seter configurations. The base Premium variant comes equipped with a 55.4 kWh battery with a power output of 163 HP & 310 NM of torque, it goes from 0-100 in 8.6 seconds. It comes with a claimed NEDC range of 420 kms. On the other side, the top trim Superior comes with 71.8 kWh battery with the poer outputs of 204 HP and 310 Nm of torque. It offers the range of up to 530 kms on single charge.

The Premium variant supports up to 89 kW DC fast charing whareas the Superior trim supports up to 115 kW DC fast charger. Interestingly, the BYD eMax7 also gets vehicle-to-load functionality, attracting wider range of customers.

Warranty and Availability

For both the variants of the eMax 7 MPV, BYD India is offering 8-years/1.6 lakh km of warranty on the battery pack, whereas the motors comes with an 8-year/1.5 lakh km warranty which ever is earlier.

With the launch of just before the festive season, the BYD eMax7 comes with a competitive price and rivals the segment leader Toyota Innova Hycross priced between Rs. 25.97 – Rs. 30.98 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be interesting to see the competition between and ICE engine Innova and an electric MPV Emax7.
