So, Hyundai Alcazar got a facelift and it’s out there with starting prices of Rs. 14.99 lakhs for the petrol manual transmission 7-seater variant and Rs. 15.99 lakhs for the diesel ones (ex-showroom and introductory). No changes have been done mechanically, but it’s got some cool updates in its design and features. You can choose from four trims: Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature. And guess what? Bookings are open now with just a token amount of Rs. 25,000/-. Ready to roll?
Exterior
The new Alcazar features a bold H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamp design at the front, with a larger grille and a more prominent air intake framed by silver accents, giving the vehicle a chunkier appearance. The updated model features minimal changes to the side profile, new 18-inch alloy wheels, functional roof rails, and a rear design with a full-width tail lamp and silver detailing on the bumpers for a sportier look. The Alcazar facelift will be offered in nine exterior colors, including eight monotone options and a dual-tone variant with Atlas White and Abyss Black.
Interior
The Alcazar facelift shares the dashboard layout with the updated Creta, including dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It also introduces a new dual-tone tan and dark blue color scheme in the cabin.
A significant change is the removal of the fixed center console between the second-row captain seats in the 6-seater configuration, creating more space for easier access to the third row. The second-row seats now have extendable thigh support, ventilation, and a ‘boss mode’ for extra legroom by adjusting the front passenger seat from the rear. Rear passengers also get fold-out tray tables and sunshades.
In terms of safety, the facelift Alcazar includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. It also offers a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless charging for both front and middle rows, dual-zone climate control, a Bose sound system, connected car features, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags.
Powertrain
The Hyundai Alcazar facelift is equipped with the same engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol engine delivers 160 HP and 253 Nm of torque, combined with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The diesel engine produces 116 HP and 250Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are front-wheel drive and provide various drive and traction control modes, such as settings for snow, sand, and mud.
Rivals
The refreshed Hyundai Alcazar will keep competing in the midsize SUV segment, aiming to strengthen its position with its updated design and added features against rivals like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus.
