Kawasaki has officially launched the Ninja 1100SX in India, set at a price of Rs. 13.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). This latest model supersedes the widely acclaimed Ninja 1000SX, showcasing a design language that is consistent with its predecessor. Bookings for the motorcycle are currently open, requiring a token amount of Rs. 50,000, with deliveries anticipated to commence in January 2025.
The Ninja 1100SX evolves from the Ninja 1000SX, known for its performance and comfort. Currently, only the standard variant is available in India, while the international SE variant with upgrades is not yet offered in the Indian market.
Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX: What’s new
The Ninja 1100SX is driven by a powerful liquid-cooled 1099cc inline-four engine, delivering an impressive 136 HP at 9000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 7600 RPM. While this model has a slightly lower power output compared to its predecessor, the Ninja 1000SX, with a decrease of 6 HP, it boasts an enhanced torque figure with an additional 2 Nm. Kawasaki has expertly optimized this bike for highway touring by extending the 5th and 6th gears, strategically lowering engine RPM during cruising to significantly improve fuel efficiency.
The chassis of the Ninja 1000SX is mostly the same, with a key upgrade of a 10 mm larger rear disc brake, while the electronics include various power modes, traction control, a quick-shifter, and cruise control.
Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX: Market & Rival
The Ninja 1100SX has no direct competitors in the Indian market, with the nearest rival being the pricier Triumph Tiger 900 GT at Rs. 13.95 lakhs.
