Mercedes AMG C 63 SE-Performance

The new AMG C 63 S E Performance gets rear-wheel steering and more tech on offer.

Following the launch of AMG G 63 SUV, Mercedes has confirmed the launch of AMG C 63 S E Performance in India. The German marque has launched 13 vehicles this year which includes facelift models as well. Now, the brand is ready to launch the new performance oriented coupe sedan on 12th November.

Dimensions

In terms of dimensions, the Mercedes AMG C 63 S E Performance has 4,841mm length, 1,900mm width, 1,458 mm hight and 2,875 mm wheelbase. It runs on 20-inch alloy wheels and has a quad-tip exhaust system.

Powertrain

Under the hood of the AMG C 63 SE Performance is a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine. It is one of the mort powerful inline four-cylinder engine that comes with an F1-derived electrically assisted turbocharger. Additionally, there’s a 6.1kWh battery and an electric motor placed on rear axle producing 198 HP & 320 NM of torque alone.

The combined power output is 670 HP and 1,020 NM of torque. This engine comes paired to 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system. With this power, it goes from 0-100 km/hr in just 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 280 kmph.

Interior & Features

Inside the AMG C 63 S E Performance is a C-Class inspired cabin layout with ambient lighting, a large infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Buyers can opt for AMP sports seats with a range of upholstery options. Overall the interior looks familiar with AMG design elements such as AMG-steering wheel, carbon fibre inserts and aluminium paddles.

Some of the highlighted features are a rear-wheel steering wheel and AMG ride control adaptive suspension system as standard. It comes with 8 AMG driving modes including Electric,Comfort,Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, Race, Slippery and individual.

Price & Market

At present, there is no information about the pricing of the vehicle. However, it is likely to be priced around Rs 1.50 crore (ex-showroom). Once launches, it will competed with Audi RS 5 and BMW M4 Competition.
