Triumph Daytona 660: The Baddest Bike in the 660 Lineup

Triumph just launched the new Daytona 660 in India, with a starting at Rs. 9.72 lakhs (ex-showroom). This bad boy joins Triumph’s 660cc lineup as the top dog, taking on the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Aprilia RS 660. It’s all about power and competition!

Key Highlights of the Daytona 660

The Daytona 660 is equipped with a 660cc inline three-cylinder engine shared with the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. In the Daytona, the engine is tuned for the highest output, producing 95 HP at 11,250 RPM and 69 Nm torque at 8250 RPM, marking a 14 HP and 5 Nm increase compared to its counterparts. Triumph emphasizes that while the performance figures may not match the older Daytona 675, the Daytona 660 provides a more user-friendly and comfortable riding experience.

The Daytona 660 is 12 kg heavier than the Trident 660 but 5 kg lighter than the Tiger Sport 660. It has a seat height of 810 mm, which is 25 mm lower than the Tiger Sport 660 and 5 mm higher than the Trident 660. Additionally, it comes with a 14-litre fuel tank and is available in three global colour options: Snowdonia White, Satin Granite, and Carnival Red.

Pricing & Competition

The Daytona 660 demands a premium of Rs. 27,000 over the Tiger Sport 660 and a hefty Rs. 1.60 lakhs more than the Trident 660 in India. It’s in for a fierce showdown, facing off against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Aprilia RS 660, and the eagerly anticipated Honda CBR650R and Suzuki GSX-8R.
