Volkswagen Tiguan R Line is landing in India on April 14th – fully imported SUV!
Volkswagen is super excited to drop the Tiguan R Line in India on April 14th, and let me tell you, this isn’t just any launch—it’s the epic debut of their seriously cool luxury SUV. This R Line is coming in as a completely built unit (CBU), and it’s likely to be priced around Rs. 50 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Design & Exterior
The R Line, as the top-spec model in the Tiguan lineup, features a sportier design with redesigned bumpers, a rear spoiler, unique side panels, full-width LED light strips, and 19-inch alloy wheels that enhance its premium appearance. The new Tiguan is 30 mm longer than the previous model sold in India, but its wheelbase is the same.

Tech & Features
Inside, the Tiguan R Line strikes a perfect balance between sporty and luxurious, with comfy sports seats, awesome ambient lighting that offers 30 color options, and a stylish dashboard featuring a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a large 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Plus, Volkswagen’s latest MIB4 infotainment software has got over-the-air (OTA) updates, so everything stays fresh and runs like a charm.

Performance
The Tiguan R Line is ready to blow you away with its awesome 2.0-litre turbo engine cranking out a cool 265 HP. Plus, it’s got this slick 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG) and Volkswagen’s sporty 4Motion all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, so you’re in for one exciting ride!
The current Tiguan in India comes with a zippy 190 HP, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Over in the international market, the R Line variants get some cool options like mild-hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and diesel engines, but it looks like those won’t make it to the Indian version.
Price
The Tiguan R Line, priced at approximately Rs. 50 lakhs, is notably more expensive than the current Tiguan at Rs. 38.17 lakhs, making it Volkswagen’s most costly SUV in India for consumers desiring a premium, high-performance vehicle.
