Kawasaki has launched the KLX230 at Rs 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Brand has now entered the highly competitive segment of dual-sport motorcycles. This model is specifically designed to cater to adventure enthusiasts who seek the perfect balance between on-road comfort and off-road capability. The KLX230 also boasts a modern aesthetic, incorporating ergonomic design elements that ensure rider comfort during long trips.
Kawasaki KLX230: What’s new
The Kawasaki KLX230 is equipped with a robust 233cc air-cooled engine that delivers 18.1 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and generates a torque of 18.3 Nm at 6,400 rpm. This powertrain is complemented by a 6-speed transmission, although it features a modest fuel tank capacity of merely 7.6 liters. The motorcycle is designed with a 37mm telescopic fork at the front, providing 240mm of suspension travel, while the rear is supported by a monoshock system with 250mm of travel.

The features list isn’t too exciting, and it sports a pretty basic LCD that lets you connect via Bluetooth. It also has dual-channel ABS, which is a nice touch. Weighing in at 139kg, the KLX230 is on the lighter side, but it does have a tall seat height of 880mm. Good news for shorter riders, though – they can grab an optional lower seat if they need it!
Right now, the Kawasaki KLX230 is going head-to-head with the Hero Xpulse 200 4V and the Xpulse 200 4V Pro. These bikes are going for Rs 1.51 lakh and Rs 1.64 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, India). That makes the KLX230 pretty much double the price! Sure, it’s a solid ride, but its hefty price tag and the not-so-great service network could really hold it back.
