Maruti Suzuki has just teased the much-anticipated e Vitara electric SUV, set to shake up the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2025 (Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025). On January 17, in the heart of New Delhi, the e Vitara will make its electrifying debut, promising to capture the attention of every automotive enthusiast.
The Maruti e Vitara, developed with Toyota, features a new skateboard platform and will be produced in India for export, alongside Toyota’s Urban Cruiser EV. The e Vitara will offer two battery options: a 49kWh for entry-level variants and a 61kWh for higher trims, with the latter featuring an AWD system called AllGrip-e.
The production-spec Maruti e Vitara has a delightful resemblance to the eVX concept. Excitingly, some of the sharper features have been beautifully transformed into more rounded edges, while the essence of the concept’s stunning design has been embraced and retained in the production model.

Maruti e Vitara: Market & Rivals
Previously unveiled as the innovative eVX concept, the Suzuki e Vitara has made an exhilarating debut in Milan, Italy! This all-electric SUV marks Maruti’s groundbreaking entry into the EV market for India, ready to compete fiercely against the remarkable Hyundai Creta EV (also debuting on January 17), the stylish MG ZS EV, the dynamic Tata Curvv, and the bold Mahindra BE 6 SUVs. Excitement is building as we anticipate the e Vitara’s launch in India by March 2025, followed by an eagerly awaited European launch around June next year!
